Selly Thiam

CEO & Founder

Selly Thiam is a Senegalese- American journalist, filmmaker, radio producer and writer. Selly went on to work for PBS and the New York Times and was a Carnegie Fellow with the ABC News Investigative Unit.

In 2006, she founded None on Record: Stories of Queer Africa, which collected and archived over 1000 first person narratives of LGBT Africans on the Continent and the Diaspora. Since then, None on Record has grown into an Africa-wide LGBT digital media organization.

Selly is the CEO and founder of AQ Studios, an African podcast company and is the Executive Producer and host of the award winning AfroQueer podcast.

Mercy Githaiga

Operations Manager

Mercy G. is the operations manager at AQ studios. She has a BA in Economics & Sociology and a Masters Degree in Project Planning and Management. She oversees and is in charge of the day to day admin, running and operations of the company. Mercy is a passionate mother who loves cooking and hiking.

Tevin Sudi

Sound Engineer

Tevin is the Sound Engineer at AQ Studios. He specializes in audio post-production. His goal is to tell engaging narratives across genres, representing ideas, cultures, and interests of African experiences.
